Studied medicine in Basel and oboe with André Lardrot.
Numerous free-lance performances as soloist, with chamber music ensembles and with orchestras. His instruments are oboe, oboe d’amore, cor anglais and baritone oboe.
As oboist, he was interested in technical and instrumental problems for decades. The most important goal was the development of a profiling machine, that allows to scrape in a quality and with all correction possibilities of the best hand-scraped reeds. After years of work he has reached this goal in 2008 and set up the Oboenzubehör Bucher GmbH for the marketing oft he machine.

Excellent bassoonists of the Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande have contributet suggestions after having tested a prototype of the machine.
